The collection mostly consists of writing (typescripts and notes) and reference material (photocopies of archival material with notes, reproductions of various secondary literature, and slides). It also contains teaching material (course readers and lecture notes), as well as assorted material related to conferences, lectures, and other public presentations. The bulk of the material from is from 1981 - 2000.

Journals are ordered alphabetically by the name of the publication. The exception to this is Shinkenchiku (新建築). Given the number of volumes in the collection, these have been placed at the end of the series and are ordered at the 209 level.

Series B consists of publications originally held by Kenzō Tange. The series is further subdivided in the following subseries: B001 (Books); B002 (Journals); B003 (Clippings and Photocopies); B004 (Office Publications); B005 (Event Related Material); B006 (Miscellaneous).
